Mission: Jet Setter 2010

To jump start my life dreams of pursuing an art and science career I have taken advantage of a life changing opportunity to study abroad in a homestay for five weeks this summer. The country of my choice is Italy.

Italy, Italy, Italy! A country filled with an outstandingly rich culture of art, music, and academics. Italy, the birthplace of the the Etruscans and Roman civilizations, the Renaissance movement, and innumerable artist from Giovanni Pisano to Michangelo Buonarroti. During my stay, I will learn the language and culture of Italia. I hope to visit and witness the spectacular architectural achievements such as Brunelleschi's dome on the Florence Cathedral or the Gates of Paradise by Lorenzo Ghiberti or even the Pantheon from the powerful Roman civilization. Also containing some interest in fashion and music, I hope to explore the couture capital of Milan or wander Antonio Vivaldi's home streets of Venice. My journey here will be beneficial in exposing me to some of the most paradigm art, a field that I plan on professionalizing in, in some way, shape, or form.

The sponsor of the trip will be American Field Service(AFS), who has provided an awesome feature to aid in the fundraising process. Unfortunately I cannot say I am completely financially covered for my trip with the millions of other necessities required to support a hardworking high schooler (plus with college around the corner). On my blog I will be able to feature a safe and secure donation link that will send any contributions straight to my savings account for the trip! Because the cost of this trip is slightly hefty I will appreciate any and every contribution whether it is a penny, a million dollars, or even a digital camera. I myself am taking drastic measures to ensure my participation such as: selling clothes, applying for scholarships, and taking up several jobs.

There is no doubt that all of my journeys will be shared with you through my blog. Whatever your contribution is, remember that it is ultimately an investment in a future advant-garde of this world ! To sponsor my AFS program now, please click the ChipIn button. You could be the earliest patrons of an upcoming artist!
